Dionne Wilson is the Innovation Fair Manager for this year’s Oxford Africa Conference. She is currently pursuing an MSc Education (Learning and Technology) Degree and has a BA in Studio Art from Swarthmore College in the USA. She is passionate about research-based interventions for quality, equal and accessible education and learning opportunities in the developing context. Her interests also include intersections between education and technology, mlearning, elearning, design, entrepreneurship, art and youth education.

Dionne has worn many hats and brings a unique perspective to the Innovation Fair.  She has worked as a Creativity Lab Manager and Art teacher, a design consultant for a fintech mobile money startup in Ghana, a freelance graphic designer and ceramic artist and as an English teacher in Rwanda. In 2013, she founded the MindMill Africa Summer Program where she gained experience in project management, curriculum design, volunteer training and workshop facilitation. The program was aimed at developing problem-solving skills and innovative thinking through design in at-risk youth in Ghana. She was also a founding member of SwatTank -Swarthmore College’s First Business Idea Pitch Competition-which still runs today.

She is dedicated to making this year’s Innovation Fair, the conference’s best yet by bringing the fun and gathering an inspiring array of exhibitors- Africa’s best and brightest innovators!
