Yekbun is a financial inclusion expert, born in Turkey, and raised in France.
She completed her management studies in Paris. Thereafter, she lived and worked in Turkey, Germany and now France. She’s consulted banks and microfinance institutions in Burkina Faso, Haiti, Sudan as well as in the Middle East and North Africa. For over two years, she coordinates the Finance Initiative of the Climate and Clean Air Coalition hosted by UN Environment.
Yekbun cares about human rights, women’s rights, LGBTI rights and says that exile and identity are two things that she likes investigating most. She’s passionate about poverty alleviation and the links between development and climate change drew her to her current job. She supports Coalition partners (governments, NGOs and private sector) design finance strategies, improve air quality and protect the climate.
