Dr. Ibrahim Assane Mayaki of the Republic of Niger is the Chief Executive Officer of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) Planning and Coordinating Agency, head-quartered in Midrand, South Africa. From 1997 to 2000, Dr. Ibrahim Assane Mayaki was Prime Minister of Niger. In August 2000, Mayaki created the Public Policy Analysis Circle (Cercle d’analyse des politiques publiques), a thinktank focusing on health and education policy. Last year, he was appointed by the Chairman of the Development Assistance Committee, to serve on the High Level Panel on the Future of the Development Assistance Committee under the leadership of Mary Robinson. Dr. Ibrahim Assane Mayaki has also been appointed by United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to serve as a member of the Lead Group of the Scaling Up Nutrition Movement and was appointed as an Independent Team of Advisors (ITA) at the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Bureau on the ECOSOC Dialogue on the long-term positioning of the UN development system in the context of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
