Eddie is an internationally recognized human rights advocate with expertise in disability justice. He is also co-Founder and intellectual powerhouse of Evolve Initiative, a global social venture start-up that seeks to influence public policy and popular culture by re-positioning disability as a site of innovation and social transformation. Eddie was named by the Shaw Trust as one of the 50 Most Influential Disabled People in the World. He was also named one of the World’s 30 Top Thinkers Under 30, by Pacific Standard Magazine. Eddie, a graduate of the African Leadership Academy, is currently enrolled on a Master of Public Policy at Oxford University. Prior to Oxford, Eddie headed Amnesty International’s Africa youth engagement program across the Nairobi, Dakar and Johannesburg Regional Offices. He has been profiled by Al Jazeera, Huffington Post and the United Nations. Eddie (26) lives with Spinal Muscular Atrophy and has been using a wheelchair since the age of seven.
