The Oxford University Africa Society would like to announce the Raufu Mustapha Memorial Keynote Address of the Oxford Africa Conference. The Address is a tribute to the late Oxford Professor Raufu Mustapha, who passed away in August 2017. Professor Mustapha served as the long-time Patron of the Oxford University Africa Society and was instrumental in establishing this Oxford Africa Conference in 2011. Professor Mustapha research focused on African politics and taught the subject area at Oxford University for two decades where he was a tenured Professor.

To honour Professor Mustapha’s commitment to African and her peoples’, and to recognise his enduring contribution to the Oxford Africa Society and Conference, this Memorial Address will continue to be delivered annually at the Oxford Africa Conference into perpetuity.

The 2018 inaugural Raufu Mustapha Memorial Keynote Address will be delivered by the incumbent Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Amina Mohammed.
